NWR Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 2008 Posts

Eligibilities

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 15 years of age and must not have completed 24 years of age as on 06 November 2026.

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Additional relaxation as per the conditions specified in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 10/Matriculation or equivalent under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Candidates must also possess a National Trade Certificate in the relevant notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

No rounding off is allowed for the 50% marks requirement.

Qualification Cut-Off

Candidates must possess the required educational and technical qualifications on the date of submission of the application.

Candidates awaiting final examination results should not apply.

Reservation benefits are subject to the conditions and certificates prescribed in the official notification.

Important Tips

1. Read the complete NWR Apprentice notification before applying.
2. Check your Class 10 marks carefully.
3. Make sure you have at least 50% aggregate marks.
4. Check that your ITI trade matches the notified trade.
5. Verify that your NCVT/SCVT certificate is valid.
6. Select only one NWR unit.
7. Check the unit-wise trade vacancy table before selecting your unit.
8. Do not select a unit where your trade has no available training slot.
9. Multiple applications can lead to rejection.
10. Enter your name exactly as shown on your Matriculation certificate.
11. Enter your father's name and date of birth exactly as shown on your Matriculation certificate.
12. Keep your Aadhaar Card ready.
13. Use an active mobile number and valid email address.
14. Keep category certificates ready if applicable.
15. Check photograph specifications before uploading.
16. Check signature specifications before uploading.
17. Pay the Rs. 100 fee if applicable.
18. Verify the payment status if the amount is deducted but the application is incomplete.
19. Save the e-receipt.
20. Print and preserve the submitted application.
21. Keep original documents ready for Document Verification.
22. Do not wait until the last date to apply.

Select only one eligible division/workshop/unit.

Step 5: Complete Registration

Enter your personal information and Aadhaar details.

Step 6: Enter Qualification Details

Enter Class 10 and ITI qualification details.

Step 7: Upload Photograph

Upload a recent colour photograph in JPG/JPEG format.

• File size: 20 KB to 70 KB
• Photograph should not be older than three months
• Clear front view
• No cap or sunglasses

Step 8: Upload Signature

Upload your signature.

Step 9: Pay Fee

Pay Rs. 100 online if applicable.

SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are exempt.

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit.

The merit is calculated using the simple average of:

• Matriculation percentage
• Relevant ITI percentage

Tie-Breaking

If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate gets preference.

If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is considered first.

Document Verification

Candidates selected in the merit panel must undergo verification of original documents.

Medical Examination

Selected candidates must produce the prescribed medical fitness certificate at Document Verification.

Training Period

Training period and stipend will be according to the applicable Railway Board rules and directives.

Hostel Facility

No hostel accommodation will be provided.

Permanent Railway Job

Apprenticeship training does not guarantee permanent employment in Railway.

Physical Application

No physical copy of the application is required to be sent to RRC.

Multiple Applications

Candidates should apply for only one unit. Multiple applications may be rejected.

Reservation Certificates

SC/ST candidates must produce the prescribed caste certificate.

OBC candidates must produce the required caste and Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026.

EWS candidates must produce the prescribed EWS certificate.

PwBD candidates must produce the relevant disability certificate.

Training Slots

The advertised training slots are provisional and may increase or decrease depending on the actual requirement at the time of final selection.
