Railway PLW Apprentice Recruitment 2025

Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW) is inviting online applications for 225 Trade Apprentice positions. Candidates who passed 10th + ITI (or 8th + ITI for Welder) can apply before 12/22/25. Selection is merit-based without any exam. Stipend up to ₹11,040 will be provided during training.

Important Tips

• Maintain correct 10th + ITI % (convert CGPA to percentage accurately)
• Use the same name as per matric certificate
• Upload clear documents to avoid rejection
• Ensure NCVT certificate is valid
• Apply early to avoid server issues
• Prepare documents for DV: marksheets, caste certificate, Aadhar, ITI certificate

How to Apply

• Register on the Apprenticeship Portal (www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and get your registration number.
• Visit the PLW official website, open the Apprentice section, and complete the online registration.
• Fill the application form with personal details, academic marks, and upload photo & signature.
• Pay the application fee (if applicable), submit the form, and take a printout of the application + fee receipt.

Selection Process

• Selection will be based purely on merit list prepared from marks obtained in Class 10th (Matric).
• No written exam or interview will be conducted by the Patiala Locomotive Works.
• Final merit list will be prepared trade-wise according to the number of apprentice seats.
• Document verification will be done for shortlisted candidates before final joining.

Other Relevant Information

• Training will be conducted under the guidelines of the Ministry of Railways following the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• Candidates must have an active Apprenticeship Portal registration before applying.
• No TA/DA will be provided for document verification or reporting.
• Reservation benefits will be given only to candidates with valid category certificates issued by competent authorities.
• Candidates must ensure that the mobile number and email ID used in the application remain active until completion of the recruitment process.
• Incomplete applications or those with incorrect information will be rejected without prior notice.
• The apprenticeship training does not guarantee permanent employment in the railway department.
